Nansen Initiative's regional consultation on "Natural hazards, climate change, and cross-border displacement in the Greater Horn of Africa: Protecting people on the move" took place from 21-23 May 2014 at the Boma Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The consultation was hosted by the Government of Kenya and brough together representatives of governments of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, as well as representatives of regional organizations such as the East African Community (EAC), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). The consultation was also attended by UN agencies and Red Cross Societies, community-based and faith-based organizations, NGOs and representatives of the affected communities.
